Margareta Lindström

Margareta Lindström is a doctoral student in education at the School of Education and Communication in Jönköping, and she holds a doctoral student position at the University of Borås. She is part of the national research school Culturally Empowering Education through Language and Literature. Margareta has previously been working as a preschool teacher for 17 years.
Margareta’s research interests concern picturebook reading activities in preschool. Children can be provided rich opportunities to explore reading and picturebooks in preschool. They can for instance partake in reading aloud activities with teachers, but they can also explore the pictures, texts and content of picturebooks in other ways. With a genuine curiosity about how reading activities in preschool are produced, Margareta studies how involvements between for instance picturebooks, children, teachers, space, furniture, objects, time, and discourses are of importance for possibilities in reading processes in preschool.
